Name of the Department: IISU-Institution’s Innovation Council and Department of Physics Date: 04.04.2024 Time and duration: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Venue: IISU Innovation Hub, Kshipra Path campus , Mansarovar, Jaipur Participants: Students : 52 and faculty: 02 Objective of the Visit: To gain scientific knowledge from the scientific models and give an exposure of ‘learning by doing’ to new generation. Overall Report of the activity: IISU-IIC and Department of Physics, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur organized a one day visit to IISU Innovation Hub, Kshipra Path Campus on 4th April 2024. Prof. Y. K. Vijay welcomed all the students and faculty members to Innovation hub and then gave a brief introduction about the activities of the Innovation Hub. Prof. Vijay mentioned that Innovation Hub is a very essential part of Quality Education where everybody can get a feel of how the great scientific innovations might have evolved by small efforts of the beginner. He explained different scientific principles through demonstration of the scientific models. Prof. Vijay explained objects on different scale ranging from the cm to nanometre. He explained the Mechanical Transmission Line through model of 20 identical Oscillators mounted on a steel tape with equal spacing and also explained the formation of different interference pattern with mechanical waves. He demonstrated the Optical Microscope and showed the cubical structure of the NaCl crystal through it.Prof. Vijay also explained the atomic arrangement of the atom and defects through model of 10000 steel balls of 1 mm size placed between two parallel sheets. Different thermodynamic Phenomenon such as Effect of temperature difference on density of water , bouncing of LASER Beam from Saline water, Eddy Current Experiment through model were also demonstrated.The students performed the experiments and activities by themselves and learnt by doing. This helped them to have deeper understanding of scientific concepts. At the end Prof Vijay also explicated the journey of prominent Indian scientists.
