Objective of the Workshop/Seminar/Activity:
The objective of the webinar was to help students understand various innovative channels of distribution used by FMCG industry.Also how to identify such innovative supply chain and role of data analytics and digitization in advancement of supply chain .

Overall Report of the activity:
The Discipline of Business Studies, IIS (deemed to be University) in collaboration with IIC organised a Webinar on ‘Emerging Trends in FMCG Distribution’ on Saturday, Feb 12, 2022 from 2-3pm for the students of undergraduate and post graduate courses.
The resource person for the Webinar was Ms Snigdha Agarwal, Sr Manager – Demand Planning, Nivea India. The guest had a vast corporate experience of working in the logistics department of big wigs of the FMCG industry like GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson and Nivea India.
The talk highlighted the present distribution channels used by the FMCG industry. As per the analysis of the industry, the Chemist channel has become a significant part of the FMCG distribution channel during the lockdowns because they were permitted to function throughout the lockdowns as they were part of essential services. The expert also highlighted the significance of each distribution channel in the overall Supply Chain. She also made the students aware about the role of data analytics and digitization in bringing huge advances in the field of Supply Chain Management.
She made the students understand the career opportunities in the field Supply Chain Management. She also highlighted how the FMCG industry was impacted with the COVID pandemic.
The session was highly interactive and insightful for the students. The session was conducted on MS Teams Platform.
Outcome: The webinar helped the students understand the career opportunities in the field of supply chain management and also the impact of COVID Pandemic on FMCG industry .The session was highly interactive and insightful for the students.
