Objective: Initiatives taken by AICTE for the students through their various portals. Benefit in terms of learning/Skill/Knowledge obtained: Knowledge about portals like ‘NEED’, ‘SWAYAM’, ‘SWAYAMPRABHA’ as learning tools for students.

Overall report of the activity: A leadership talk was done on 9 April, 2020. Dr. Abhay Jere, the Chief Innovation Officer, MIC, MHRD, Govt. of India, where he was in conversation with Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE. In this online session of Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, he enlightened the students, teachers and mentors of various institutions about managing with the loss during this world epidemic of COVID-19 and answered several questions coming up in every student’s head. He also discussed various initiatives that AICTE is taking for the students connected to them through their various portals. When he was asked about his expectations as a educationist from the students. He said that the first and foremost step is learning which should not stop. He said “Learning is a life long process and one should continue to do that while sitting at home using technology provided to all of us”. He also apprised the students about a portal called ‘Helpline’ launched recently by AICTE where students can post their queries and also about various other initiatives of AICTE like ‘NEED’ which has several products for personal learning of students for better employability and about ‘SWAYAM’ and ‘SWAYAMPRABHA’ are similar other tools for the students which act as an aid via internet and TV channels respectively. He concluded by saying, “In the given circumstances, students can still learn industrial practices. Industries can still give industry level problems to the interns that they can learn and solve by sitting at home”. The session was highly knowledgeable and a great source of information which is the need of the hour.
