Objective: The objective of the session was to throw light on the innovation and start up policy and create awareness among faculty and students in order to align them with the policy framework
Benefit in terms of learning/Skill/Knowledge obtained: In-depth knowledge on the key aspects of the innovation and start policy which is very relevant for the booming start ups and university incubation centre. The lecture helped us in setting up guidelines and taking appropriate measures for the incubation centre being run in the university for students.
Overall report of the activity: An online session was organised by IIC on 28th April 2020. The topic of the youtube session was “National Innovation and Start up Policy for Students and Faculty 2019: A Guiding Framework for HEIs for Implementation” and the resource person was Shri Dipan Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, National Coordinator- NISP, IIC and ARIIA. Seven students and a faculty Coordinator from IIS University participated in the three hours session. The session was essential for students as well as the faculty in order to comprehend them with start up policy features. Mr. Dipan Sahu also threw light on the various policy features for the university incubation centres. He described all the measures and means through which innovation and entrepreneurship can be encouraged in the academic world. He made the faculty coordinators aware on how the incubator centres and innovation cell of the universities should work upon to implement the National Innovation Policy and how the universities can work effectively as part of the innovation ecosystem. The session was very well planned and covered all the key aspects of the policy. After the session an e-assessment was attempted by the participants.
