Objective of the Workshop/Seminar/Activity: To aware and train the participants on Research and Publication Ethics promoting & supporting innovation, IPR, startup including topics Concept of IPR in research, Copyright in journals and research publications, Patent in different domain of research, and Ethics in patents

The session was organized by the IIC, IPR Cell of the IIS Deemed to be University on 4 January 2021 between 3-4 PM (1 hour).The session helped the participants sensitize on Research and Publication Ethics for promoting & supporting innovation, IPR, startup including topics Concept of IPR in research, Copyright in journals and research publications, Patent in different domain of research, and Ethics in patents. The resource person of the session was IPR Facilitator Pankaj Kumar, Innovation Ambassador. As expected that the participants who are mostly research scholars and their supervisors, they may have issues regarding patenting and its management, during the interaction session the expectation proved right as some of them already have filed application for patents and unable to track own application and no idea how to move further. Present program help the participants how to track the filed application and how to move forward like enabling for how to decide whether do provisional or complete application and under which circumstances, whether to request optional stage for early publication and when they may request for examination of the filed application. The session ended with the interaction with the participants where the issue faced with them regarding patenting and its management was resolved during the interaction.

Outcome:
Sensitization to the participants on Research and Publication Ethics and related IPR matters;
Brief awareness on IPR related issues;
Motivation to create and manage the IPR in view of discussed significance and the benefits of various IPR and more particularly on patent
