Overall report of the activity: The ministry of HRD conducted an interactive session headed by Dr. Abhay Jere who is presently the Chief Innovation Officer in MHRD under the series of video talk which goes under the handle #LeadershipTalk. These video talks are uploaded every week to benefit the students and faculty during the corona pandemic crisis. The guest of the hour was Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha who is presently working as the secretary for the ministry of Ayush. It was an informative, interactive and a bilateral session where Rajesh Sir talked about how various claims that the practitioners these days are articulating. We even got to know how the ministry is handling such situation of such false claims and taking steps to prevent the same. Rajesh sir even spoke about the set-up of an interdisciplinary task force which is headed by Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan so as to welcome progressive ideas and generate evidence if any that can help in making the vaccine for fight coronavirus; this will help in the systematic and collective approach of young minds to come up with the solution as suggested by honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rajesh sir advised to follow the guidelines as recommended by the ministry of Ayush for meeting the challenges that are arising out of spread of coronavirus. He informed the studies that are being conducted to examine why few states are having low mortality rates than that of the others so as steps can be taken to curb the situation. He shared a few measures for enhancing Immunity and instructed in using spices like turmeric, cumin, garlic and coriander in your diet for the same. He even informed what are the actions to taken in case of sore throat or cold and urged on drinking decoction daily made of tulsi, cinnamon, black pepper, black resins and fresh lemon juice so as to enhance your immunity. The talk was helpful and enlightening.
