Objective of the Workshop/Seminar/Activity To create the awareness regarding Intellectual property Rights and related issued so as to deliver the benefits and pre requisites of IPR
Overall Report of the activity Highlights:
• The ‘KAPILA’ Kalam Program helps those students who pursuing education in higher educational institutions want to gather information about the correct system of the application process for patenting their invention and also become aware of their rights.
• The Institution Innovation Council (IIC 2.0) annual report was also presented on the occasion and the launch of IIC 3.0 was announced and its website was also launched.
• It was also decided that the week of October 15th to 23rd would be celebrated as 'Intellectual Property Literacy Week'.
• Institution Innovation Council was established by the Ministry of Education in 2018.
• IICs have been established in about 1700 higher educational institutions and it was marked that IIC will be established in 5000 higher educational institutions under IIC 3.0.
• Intellectual Property Literacy Week was celebrated by conducting a number of activities online from October 15th to October 23, in which information about the system and the importance of the process of applying for a patent was given.
• The Initiative (KAPILA) was launched by Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' virtually Named 'KAPILA' Kalam Program for Intellectual Property Literacy and Awareness campaign on the 89th birth anniversary of former President and Scientist Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
KAPILA is driven by idea that it is not only to invent for the self-sufficiency of the country, but also to patent the inventions.
Patent of inventions will lead India towards Self-Reliance through KAPILA as India has a proud history of Nalanda and Takshila Universities so we already had the intellectual property inherited within our culture. India has to again lead the world as Vishwaguru in the field of patents.
