Awareness Program on Intellectual Property Rights
The Institution’s innovation Council of IIS (deemed to be University) organized a lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights” for the students and faculty of the University to raise the level of awareness on IPR and promote young students to use IPR tools for protection and enforcement of their rights on 04.02.2019 at 11.00 A.M. in AV Hall. The invited speaker was Prof. K.S. Sharma, Advisor, IIS (deemed to be University). The attendees were Under-graduate, Post-graduate students , research scholars and faculty of all the streams of University. The lecture was divided in two sessions; The first session was for the students and another was for the faculty. Prof. Sharma introduced the term “Intellectual Property Right” to the audience. He explained the meaning, importance, background of the IPR and illustrated them with numerous news and market data in the domain. Most of the slides were pictorial presentations which were self-explanatory. More particularly, the lecture covered basics of IPRs, categories and the types of IPRs, introduction of various IPRs, women in IPRs, at home with inventions, rationale behind IPRs, balancing of the rights, objectives, options to the innovators, IP life cycle and the IPR Strategies. The students and faculty both were benefitted by the talk.
